Japamala is a sacred cord composed of 108 beads, Japa in Sanskrit means recitation, and Mala means string of beads. It is worn around the neck or like a western rosary!

The meru is the main bead that marks the beginning and the end of the Mala. According to the "Yogui" philosophy, when you complete the cycle with the 108 repetitions of the prayer, you can reach a transcendental stage.
